Volunteer.

It’s much more than the name of  our University of Tennessee sports teams.

Volunteer.

That’s what Knoxville is all about, volunteering. We’re the Volunteer State, that’s what people in Tennessee do best, we volunteer whenever something important needs to be done. We need people to volunteer to take on a job to make your community better. To make your community safer. Make it a good place to raise a family. Make it a good place to work and live and thrive.

Politicians aren’t magicians, they can’t wave a magic wand and suddenly make things better. They need the help of the community, so they can help the community achieve it’s goals. The way to make things change, the way to insure things will get done, is to volunteer. Shoulder some of the responsibility to make things better. Sadly, it’s usually a small handful of people that decide to get involved, and they work themselves ragged trying to get things done. Do you have any idea what would happen if a lot of people got involved, and a lot of people did a little here, a little there? It would do a great deal to make things better.

So adopt the spirit of the people that helped found this state- become a volunteer. A real volunteer. Someone that cares enough about where they live to try to make it a better place for everyone. If you volunteer to take on a bit of the work needed to get things done, it will make a difference.

Here’s how you can help.

  • Host an event

Hold a rally, get a bunch of people together and spread the word on what he’s trying to do to make your community better.

Contact Chuck about hosting an event.

  • Contribute

Hold a fundraiser to help put Chuck in office. Collect money from friends and neighbors.

  • Put up a yard sign

Something so simple as standing up for what you believe in, standing behind someone who’s dedicated to fixing the things in local Government that have been broken for a long time can go a long way. All it takes is the guts to stand up and be counted by putting your home on the map as a home that wants to make things better.

  • Contact your friends

We’ve all been on the receiving end of those emails people send around and around, usually jokes or stories. Instead of forwarding those emails that don’t mean anything important, send out emails about what Chuck is trying to do for your neighborhood. It’s not hard to do, all it takes is for you to volunteer some time and energy.
